About us

CIT is a non-profit arts development project established in 2004 and based at Waterside Arts Centre in Sale, Manchester.

CIT’s objectives are to increase the productivity and artistic quality of the creative sector and to help artists build sustainable creative careers. This is done through workshops, exhibition, publication and performance opportunities, together with mentoring support and masterclasses from leading artists across a number of fields.

We work regularly with Castlefield Gallery to deliver portfolio sessions for visual artists and with Manchester Literature Festival to deliver the annual Northern Lights Writers’ Conference. Specialists in craft, design and theatre lead on our activities for theatre-makers and designer-makers.

CIT supports fair fees and copyright retention for artists. If you wish to request an endorsement from CIT for your project or funding application, then please ask us first before using the CIT name, our logo or the names of individuals from our team.

If you’d like to speak to us about CIT providing an event in your area, then please contact us at the email address below.

If you have a suggestion for an event and a speaker you think could make a valuable contribution to the CIT programme, then please contact info@creativeindustriestrafford.org

CIT is supported by Arts Council England and Trafford Council.
